There's a MASH site with a 'vote' page here: helmi.home.pages.at/mash/english/votes.phpIf you've not already been over there to cast your votes for Charles, David, and your fave Charles episodes, please do pay a visit. If you HAVE already voted, don't forget to return and vote again - you can do this every other day or so (though the webmaster has requested that it's only done once a week)

I was glad to see "Dreams" as the number one least favorite episode, but I had to scroll and finally find "Comrades in Arms", and voted on Part One. I don't loathe "Dreams" like I do CiA. Funny how that had zero votes until I voted on it. I ALMOST voted for "Five O'Clock Charlie" as best ep. Man, I love that episode, it's a classic! But in the end, I voted for "Fade Out, Fade In," as Kay commanded. But I love in 5 o'clock Charlie when Hawkeye and Trapper are sitting there on their lounge chairs, like they're out on the veranda watching a tennis match, and one of the two says in a haughty voice, "Oh, Charles!" (LOL years before OUR Charles joined the show, of course!) As much as I love Sidney, I had to go with Colonel Flagg as best recurring guest, he's awesome and Edward Winter does a great job playing him. I esp. love eps where Sidney and Flagg appear together (which is prolly why I had them both in "Sonnets in the Dark".) I love Henry, but in the end, for "best commander," I had to go with Potter, if for no other reason that if you examine them both, he really was the better commander. Although like Henry says in one ep, it was HIM that put that unit together. "When we came over that hill we didn't have so much as a tongue depressor!" (Or bedpan, I can't remember offhand which he said.) And he's right, HE is the one that put the 4077th together, Best Care Anywhere and all. Potter, on the other hand, had more respect from the other officers, esp Hawkeye, who I don't think called him Sherman once, like he called Henry by first-name all the time. (Altho I remember one ep where Trapper actually calls Henry "sir".) Of course I voted for Charles for best character, David for best actor, and Charles for best "counterpart." That's the first thing I loved about Charles: he was a force to contend with for the other Swamprats and gave as good as he got. Least favorite character had to be Hawkeye, lol, just cuz. I don't flat-out HATE Hawkeye; in fact, he's got quite a few really funny lines (like in Mr and Mrs Who when he holds up the stockings and says, Sure, bring back the empties!) I think it's more I really dislike Alan Alda and his ego.

As 1niner says, he does have some great lines, but there's just something deeply irritating about him too. I think the hypocracy that we've discussed elsewhere (calling Charles arrogant when he's at least as bad!) is a big part of that. 'Mr and Mrs Who' is just outside the top 5 eps, so I always vote for that one. Or The Life You Save. Or Fade Out, Fade in'...

Mind you Mr and Mrs Who was so funny and Charles looked so sexy. But The Life You Save was a great episode too. David played the storyline brilliantly. Aaagh I can't decide

This time around, I gave in and voted "5 O'Clock Charlie" as best episode, just to be fair. I voted for CiA Part I as the worst ep again (I see I'm still the only one to vote on that ep, it's now up to two votes.) I loved seeing Trapper John as favorite character overall, lol, even if by four votes over Hawkeye.

Just to let you know David only needs four more votes on the 'favourite actor' vote until he's level with Alan Alda.
