This one's just coming on. In my dismay keeping an eye on the Hallmark MASH eps, I forgot to check the local Fox affiliate's showing of MASH!
Apparently they've been playing Charles eps for at least a couple weeks.
I really like this one, when Charles has to work in the field during the windstorm, with Klinger's help. This is definitely a good CEW ep! And to find out they were only hundreds of yards from the camp, after the storm is over!

I love this episode. Scruffy-looking Charles is very yummy.

Gotta agree, he looks really good in that jacket with the collar up and toting that big p-p-p-p-pistol (sorry, key stuck... ) This is one of the earliest eps where we see Charles and Klinger's friendship start to develop - eg Klinger understands perfectly that Charles is upset when his shirts have to be ripped. I doubt anyone else at the 4077th would!

Everyone else would say something like 'They're just shirts'

I've always liked Charles and Klingers' relationship. They constantly razz each other, but, I think, deep down there was real respect there.

Yeah, you'd think two characters like Charles and Klinger, seemingly totally different and from totally different backgrounds, would at best just ignore one another, but like happens fairly often, something clicks.
If you think about it, the two go through some harrowing situations (like this ep, and the one where Klinger saves Charles' life--those are just two glaring examples).

This was on last night. I liked the storyline in the episode but I don't like scruffy Charles. I kept thinking he could do with a wash and a shave and then he'd look gorgeous again. I think the same thing when Mr and Mrs Who? is on.

I agree with Kay, I love the fatigues and the big... pistol... he's toting. I love the scruffy Charles look, he seems so much more approachable and he comes off looking like a real soldier, not just a doctor thrown into the situation. I can't think of the ep, it was on just recently, when BJ and Hawkeye, along with Charles, are in the Swamp and the two are talking about going to do something, and Charles pipes up basically saying, Um, I'm in command, were you going to ask me? And they ask him, and he's nonchalant about it, like Sure, I don't care... I think he just wanted them to remember who was actually in charge, lol, even though he had that "Eh, who cares?" attitude about whatever it was they wanted to do (which escapes me right now, lol). But I digress (as usual). I saw a show on our public television station in the States about CASH units (Combat Surgical Hospitals) deployed to Iraq, and a doctor brought up a good point, about how they're doctors and nurses learning to use weaponry and shoot things (in other words, people.) One doctor said how it WAS a moral dilemma to many of them, that they're healers, yet they're learning to shoot as well. Couldn't help but put this show into a MASH frame of mind. This doc basically said, Well, if it comes down to me having to defend myself, I'm going to do it. They show truckloads of the doctors and nurses, lining the sides of the trucks as they passed through Baghdad, weapons at the ready. A regular soldier told them before they left where they were supposed to shoot (to make sure they didn't shoot OVER one another as the adrenalin hit). It was all very surreal, thinking they had to run the gauntlet through the fighting like that. Made me think of Potter and Charles with their firearms, that BJ and Hawkeye didn't want to use. Darn it, long post yet again... sorry, y'all know my usual excuse: I get carried away and my fingers take on a life of their own

Interesting point tho', 1niner. What would have happened if the truck hadn't been 200 yards from the 4077th, but had instead been behind enemy lines? And what if Charles and Klinger had needed to defend both themselves and the patients? An idea for a story in there somewhere, perhaps! ;D

Just watched this episode last night (my hubby and I are currently working our way through Season 7). What a great Charles episode! I love the way he interracted with Klinger....and what a selfless act, allowing his gorgeous silk shirts to be ripped up for bandages! My hero!! Charles just looks so lovely in this ep....he may look a bit scruffy, but I reckon that just adds to his charm!

I have all of seasons 6, 7, 8, & 9 on DVD now. I think there are so many great "Charles" episodes but, "They Call The Wind Korea" mesmerizes me for some reason. I think that this episode shows Charles at his macho-est! Can I get an "Amen" somebody? Moderator's note: I moved this post from its own new thread to this one.And yes - I do agree with the sentiment!
