Have just been rewatching this eppy, on my new Season 10 DVDs, and was amazed and delighted that in the scene in the Officers Club both Charles and Ellie have MORE DIALOGUE!! Yep - the version shown on Paramount here in the UK has had the middle section of their conversation cut! And there's also an extra line for Charles and the Private by the bar right at the beginning of the scene. Mind you, it does mean I now have to go and edit my Charles-Ellie fanfic 'What's Love Got To Do With It', but hey, every silver lining has a cloud...

Are you going to share this extra bit of dialogue with us? Please What, you mean I've got to go and watch it again? Ohh.... alright then, twist my arm! [scuttles off in direction of DVD player... makes notes.... scuttles back] Here we go then. I'll put the dialogue from the Paramount TV cut in italics, and the additional dialogue in bold. Hope that will make sense! (Scene: the Officers Club. Ellie is playing the accordion in the background): Private: She's something! Charles: (sarcastic chuckle) Marvellous! If she had a pair of cymbals between her knees she would be a veritable one-woman band(Ellie finishes playing and comes over): What's the matter, Major, didn't I soothe your savage breast?Scene then continues as per TV version till Ellie finishes playing the Beethoven on the piano - Charles: Why are you wasting your time with that overgrown concertina? With such mastery of the keyboard it seems a pity to cut it in half and play it sidewaysEllie: I like to eat At Juilliard they taught us everything about the piano except how to make a living at it. It's easier to make ends meet with the accordion. Charles: (wryly) You certainly squeezed the air out of me! Ellie: (smiling) Major - perhaps you should open your mind and let a little fresh air in!Kellye: Play something we can dance to!Scene then continues as per cut version

I watched this episode myself the other day and was watching the scene where Charles was dancing with Kellye and he looked like he was enjoying it.
I recall thinking the first time I watched the episode that it was so un-Charles like but it's actually quite nice to see that side of him.

To prove he wasn't quite as "stuffy" and remote as she seemed to think?
