I watched this yesterday and it really annoyed me that Alan Alda did most of the talking and it was mainly about him/Hawkeye. Admittedly he was the main character in the show but some of the other cast members such as David, hardly spoke at all.
I would love to have heard more from some of the others.

Oh yeah Jenn. I wonder tho, if DOS didn't talk much because of how he feels about MASH, it was a great show but it's over, lets move on to the next thing.

I don't think he said much because there wasn't a lot of opportunity for him to contribute. As Jenn says, Alan Alda did most of the talking, and it took AGES for them even to get around to the episodes that David was in. Then they seemed to spend about 2 minutes talking about that before moving on all too quickly to Gary Burghoff's departure, and the last-ever episode. Harry Morgan and Loretta Swit didn't get much of a look-in either. Amazing that it didn't seem to have occurred to Alan Alda before that joining a successful series in its 6th season might have been a bit difficult for David! He (Alda) really seems to have just thought of it!
Don't know how true it is that the discussions actually went on for about 7 hours, and we just got edited highlights (its an internet rumour, so I wouldn't want to give it too much credence). But Jeff Maxwell confirmed on alt.tv.mash that he and Kellye were interviewed and filmed for it, but cut from the final aired programme, so there obviously was more footage somewhere!

That wouldn't surprise me in the least Kay. There is a 3 part interview of DOS on the DZ board, I haven't read it in some time but I know DOS makes a brief mention of the "egos" on the MASH set, he doesn't mention names of course. Altho I think we can all imagine who DOS is referring to

You got that right Charles.
Oh well, there are plenty of other shows of DOS to watch, plenty of articles to read so let AA have his moment in the sun.

Altho I think we can all imagine who DOS is referring to I don't remember him saying anything negative about the show at all, and now the Powers That Be on the DZ website have deleted all the stuff on the original site (grrrrrr ) I can't check it. But I'd give good money to know what he said in the third set of answers to '5 questions' that he obviously thought better of later - it's the only answer he gives where there's clearly a 'cut' (apart from that great moment in clip 2 where his phone rings!
