What is the job of a moderator?
As a moderator your job is to do browse around your particular board and make sure everything is within the guidelines of our forum rules.
What are the expectations of a moderator?
- You don't have to have been a member for a long time to be chosen as staff, but I'd like to have got to know you a bit before I promote you.
- You should be an active member of our community which means logging in at least every week and browsing your section. I do check your profiles for your last log in date.
- If you're a moderator I want to see you on the forum and posting. If are going on holiday or need a break for a while that’s fine but let me know so I don't think you have left us.
- Don't take advantage of your position; your job is to delete the posts that don't abide by Major Winchester's Fan Forum Rules. Do not use your powers to delete posts that portray a different opinion to your own.
- If you no longer want to be part of our staff then please let the Chief Of Staff know.
- Inactive moderators who haven't given any notice of their absence will lose their staff position after one month. A message will be sent to the member in question prior to this.
- Also if at any time you abuse your privileges of being a moderator, by deleting multiple posts for no reason or are inappropriate or rude in posting or to other members. You will be removed as a moderator and may be subjected to the disciplinary procedure.
- I expect you to start threads within the boards to keep the board active.
- Read The Staff Info section. It's there to give you guidelines on when to modify and delete posts.
- Moderators should be friendly people who are helpful to all members.
- Moderators should have a reasonable amount of knowledge about Charles Emerson Winchester.
How can I be a moderator?
If you are interested in a staff position then please send a PM or email to The Chief of Staff covering the following information:
- Why you think you would be good at the job.
- The sections you would like to moderate, given the choice.
- Previous moderating experience - if applicable.
- Any fields of expertise such as graphics, writing fanfics, taking screen caps.
You will then be sent a reply telling you whether you have been successful. You may not always get the sections you want straightaway but I will try to give you an interesting section.
Temporary moderator positions may also come up occasionally.
If I was successful what rank would I be?
You would start off as a Section Commander but there may be opportunities for further promotion later.
You will be given the passwords to access the VIP Lounge and Commanding Office.
Do you have any vacancies?
We do not have any staff vacancies at the present.
