Have you seen the BCA board? Someone has said that Loretta got divorced because she fancied Alan Alda.
(I know I posted it but someone sent the romour to me by email and I wanted to see if anyone else had heard it)
There's also romour about Loretta and David. I heard that she aborted his baby (I was sent this in an email a while back from a friend in The USA and posted it on MASHtalk to find out whether there's any truth in it)
I don't believe either statement but I was wondering has anyone else heard them or what they think about them?

 I've seen both those on the boards and thought they were both the products of extremely fertile imaginations! The fancying AA thing is just some HM fanatic's wishful thinking and as for the baby thing, that's REALLY crazy! Looking at the replies to that on MASHtalk, I wonder whether there were any male members of the cast that poor Loretta Swit was NOT supposed to have slept with!? (Now if the rumour had been simply that she and David had had a brief fling, that I'd have less difficulty believing, especially as they were both single when he first joined the cast!) I do however like (and believe) the story that David put a note saying "Friends" with his phone number, in the book that 'Charles' gave to 'Margaret' at the end of GFA. Now THAT has the ring of truth about it!

I believe the statement that Loretta was good friends with both Alan and David but like you say those romours were probably created by a very fertile imagination and the Alan one by a HM fan.
It amazes me how people think up these things

Another romour was that David kept getting into fights with various cast members. They said on MASHtalk that he put Gary Burghoff in hospital.
Yeah right.
David is far too gentle to do something like that (I'd much rather take the word of people on the Dead Zone DVD commentaries to some strange person who has never met him).
I think that sometimes on these forums they like saying these things to get a reaction.

Yeah, I could believe maybe LS and DOS early on, like someone said if they were both single.
I couldn't believe David putting anyone in the hospital either. Like LL, I've heard DOS was a very nice and gentle person. (Is, sorry, David...)

I don't believe any of those comments, except for the one about DOS and him writing 'friends' in the book in GFA.
I think that the Alan/Loretta one is a complete load of rubbish and was almost definately the creation from the mind of a H/M shipper.

Believe it or not, I never have either Murdock, and I"m 47 yrs old!! The only thing I ever heard was that when Alan Alda made other films, he treated the extras and small roll actors like crap. You had to be a co-star or support actor for him to recognize you  |

I had heard the rumor about LS and DOS having a fling. Like you all said they were single at the time so what is the big deal. I don't believe the rest of it. It is easy for one person to start a rumor about someone. I remember when Burt Reynolds was ill and someone said he had Aids. The next thing you knew it was on all the trash papers and he said it cost him jobs.
I like to give people the benefit of the doubt so I hope the rumor about Alan Alda being rude is wrong. To be honest, I have read on other sites that LS is a witch on wheels around people and she demanded to be paid for an autograph.
The only rumor I heard about LS and her husband is he took her for a ride when they divorced. He was a lawyer before being an actor and got a huge alimony settlement from her.
