I think Charles would get irritated very quickly! They would probably get into some sort of argument that would end with Charles putting Frank in his place.
He'd probably use big words that Frank did not know the meaning of, and Frank would storm off in a huff. Of course Charles would have to remind Frank that he graduated top of his class at Harvard, and was a far superior surgeon.
All in all, I think He would handle Frank like he did Col. Flagg.

Could have made for some interesting storylines too re. Margaret, don't you think? If Charles had replaced Trapper (thoracic surgeon for thoracic surgeon), how long would it have taken for Frank to get jealous? 'Cos I don't believe Margaret would have stayed with Frank as long as she did under those circumstances!  |

To tell you the truth, I can't even imagine what it'd be like. I think I'm going to have to write it in my current "after Korea" stories, which is focusing on Frank right now. Hmmmm, something to think about.... |

Well, assuming Charles and Margaret "hook up" after the war....
I can see Frank running into Charles and Margaret at a M*A*S*H reunion stateside. Frank would probably go nuts (again) and Charles would try to figure out what the heck she ever saw in him.
They would probably spend the whole time trying to "one-up' each other. With Charles' money, schooling, and surgical skills, he would win hands down.
I think the whole thing would culminate in Charles telling off Frank, and making it clear that he had better stay away. Frank would reluctantly agree, and say something like "Take good care of her". (Kind of like his last episode when Margaret took off in the chopper with Donald.)
....just my thoughts.

I'd love to see an episode with Charles and Frank together. It would be so funny to see.
Charles would just insult Frank in words that Frank wouldn't be able to understand and then Frank would just go crying to the Colonel.

Frank would feel threatened by Charles because of Charles' skills as a surgeon. I know Hawkeye, BJ and Trapper were better surgeons than Frank but he had rank over them and he wouldn't have that over Charles.
