I sort of remembered this, when BJ is being such a crud to Charles. I'd totally forgotten that C&M figured out what BJ was doing, and they get their comeuppance, LOL!! I love how they sit on both sides of BJ and talk across him, "So, where'd you go to high school?" Charles asks.

Yes, BJ really was a jerk in this ep. I know his foot hurt, but that was poor excuse for behaving the way he did. If he didn't want to listen to Charles' music, fine, but to prevent Charles listening to it himself, even out of BJs earshot, was just plain spiteful. I was delighted when C&M rumbled what he was doing! (Gotta be scope there for an ATC from sg1niner, I think !)

I agree Charles wasn't bothering anyone in the officers club so BJ should have left him alone. Bj was just mad because he couldn't do what he wanted to do.
I loved the way Charles and Margaret got their own back on him.

I liked this one, minus one remark from Charles which didn't seem to make sense, given...well, everything. When Margaret was asking to borrow some of his records and she's trying to suck up to him and says, "What are friends for?" Charles says, "Friends? I would say we merely coexist." I would think Charles at least counts Margaret as a friend. I mean, he even said so in "No Laughing Matter." Doesn't make much sense at all.

I assumed that the remark from Charles was something he said to avoid having to do anything for Margaret. I don't think he meant it.

I assumed that the remark from Charles was something he said to avoid having to do anything for Margaret. I don't think he meant it. As I recall, he did say something to BJ later on about "perhaps overdoing it", or words to that effect. The implication was that he hadn't really meant what he said. Will have to rewatch, and check!

I think you're right, Kay, I think he did make the remark to the effect of "overdoing it" and that's when BJ hatched the plan to send him into Margaret's tent, wooing her with "beads and shallow flattery" so he could be forgiven and acquire use of her phonograph. Makes sense, now, when put into a different light.
