I like everything about Charles from his looks to his personality. His personality I think is something that makes him truly special. He's intelligent, funny and very kind. The nicest thing is that he doesn't make a big issue over his acts of kindness so he's obviously doing it out of the goodness of his heart rather than to impress others. What a sweetie How about everyone else? What makes Charles your favourite?

What makes Charles your favourite? Oh, those eyes! It was definitely the beautiful blue eyes that started it, along with the cute smile and the sexy chest. But I also admire the way he doesn't draw attention to the nice things he does. When he gives the candy to the orphans, he just takes all the insults everyone hurls at him rather than break with family tradition and point out what he's doing. (And everything else you said too, Charlies Girl!) ;D

He's definately got the loveliest eyes in MASH. I think he's a very handsome chap. I love it when he smiles because every time I see him smile it makes me want to smile back at him

They're the most beautiful shade of blue that I've ever seen. I truly love everything about him though. He's nice, generous, and a real sweety that hides it all under that pompous, arrogant exterior. I love that he's real and doesn't try to glorify himself through the good he does. I think he was one of the most realistic characters on the show. And cute to boot

I like him because he's an interesting character. He's not all good like Radar and he's not as bad as Frank. I think he's believable.

I like him because he's funny and well portrayed. He was nice sometimes. I don't like his voice. His accent is a bit annoying. I liked David's accent but his voice is a bit too deep.

I think David's voice is gorgeous! It does perhaps take a little getting used to after hearing him as Charles for so long, but once you get used to it, it's lovely - very distinctive and sexy. The Charles accent, according to people who have lived in Boston, is apparently really authentic for an upper-class Harvardian.

His Charles accent is probably because he's had elocution lessons (which he would have had at school).
It took me a while to get used to David's own voice but it's really sexy.

Oh I love David's voice. He's one of the few people I can listen to any time at all. William Petersen is the other.
As for Charles' voice -- I've never been to Boston, but I've read that David worked with a speech coach to get the accent just right. I always thought Charles had a sexy voice too.

Can't remember where I read it now! But you're right though - can't always believe what you read in the press (and especially not what's on the internet!). David does seem to know Boston quite well though - on the commentary for 'Cabin Pressure', the guy doing the commentary with him asks (in response to something Purdy says) "what's the Harvard Club?" And David not only tells him, but gives him its exact location in Boston.

It said in MASH: The Exclusive, Inside Story of TV's Most Popular Show (David S Reiss) that David taught theatre games at Harvard.
Didn't MASH have a speech coach?

Kay, I completely forgot about that 'Cabin Pressure' commentary. I think I know what I will be watching tonight. I've always wanted to visit Boston -- I think I'd have a heartattack driving in that traffic though.
Jenn, thanks for clearing up the teaching-at-Harvard thing. I really need to buy that book. The more I hear about it, the more I want to read it.
Speaking of books, I think David should write one. I know I'd read it ;D.
