Here's an easy one.... What blood type does Charles have? Actually he has TWO blood types - depending on whether you take the answer from C*A*V*E or 'Life Time'

I go by what they had in CAVE, since it was a funny scene with Klinger saying something about how he, Charles and Mulcahey share the same blood type, and Charles yells from the background, "NOT FUNNY, Klinger!"
So, B+ it is. IMO.

I'd looked these up ages ago via this page www.defenselink.mil/specials/ribbons/Army1.html , but I'd identified the first one as the Distinguished Service Medal. I think you're right though - National Defense Service Medal would probably be a better bet. My excuse is, I only had videotapes at the time - DVDs make things much clearer!

That's interesting. I'd always wondered what his medals meant.
Why has Charles got a Korean Service Medal when some of the others at the 4077th haven't?

That's interesting. I'd always wondered what his medals meant. Why has Charles got a Korean Service Medal when some of the others at the 4077th haven't? I often wondered the same thing. The only other person I saw wearing ribbons was Col. Potter. Maybe Hawkeye and BJ were "protesting" or something by not wearing them.

I think the medals were costume-department standard issue with any Major's jacket - Frank and Sidney both had the exact same set of medals, unless my eyes deceive me!

I think the medals were costume-department standard issue with any Major's jacket - Frank and Sidney both had the exact same set of medals, unless my eyes deceive me! I noticed that too. At first I thought that maybe they were just using the same jacket but then I realised that couldn't have been possible given the difference in build between Larry Linville, Allan Arbus and David.

Regarding Charles' ribbons above, I'd say the one on the left is the National Defense Service as well. My son, a sailor, has one on his uniform already. I'm proud he's in the US Navy, but not proud of this so-called "war" he got this ribbon for. Oh well. He'll be considered a war-time veteran at least, which has some added perks.
